I always try to go organic when I can. It's pricier, but you get way you pay for (good health!). Cottage cheese is a great source of calcium. It can help prevent osteoporosi and certain cancers. It can regulate high blood pressure. It can help with weight loss because of it's levels of protein. And it has been known to help children who seem low on energy (which dairy can help with). Also, the cottage cheeses with live cultures contain probiotics.
A single cup of raw kale (about 67 grams or 2.4 ounces) contains (1):
Vitamin A: 206% of the DV (from beta-carotene)Vitamin K: 684% of the DVVitamin C: 134% of the DVVitamin B6: 9% of the DVManganese: 26% of the DVCalcium: 9% of the DVCopper: 10% of the DVPotassium: 9% of the DVMagnesium: 6% of the DVIt also contains 3% or more of the DV for vitamin B1 (thiamin), vitamin B2 (riboflavin), vitamin B3 (niacin), iron and phosphorus. This is coming with a total of 33 calories, 6 grams of carbs (2 of which are fiber) and 3 grams of protein. LOADED with antioxidants (which "have powerful heart-protective, blood pressure-lowering, anti-inflammatory, anti-viral, anti-depressant and anti-cancer effects, to name a few"). Lowers Cholesterol. Also helps with weight loss, due to high low calorie and high water content.
"The health benefits of spinach include skin care, improved eyesight, regulated blood pressure, stronger muscles, and prevention of age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and hemophilia. It also helps with health conditions such as cataracts, atherosclerosis, heart attacks, and neurological disorders. It helps in bone mineralization and exerts anti-ulcerative and anti-cancerous benefits. In addition, it aids in the healthy fetal development and growth of infants." It's a good choice if you're at a risk for neurological disorders.
High source of protein and iodine, so it can help with weight loss. High source of calcium, as well. Rich in potassium which can offset sodium. Full of B12! Loads of probiotics.
